Organizers of a Vancouver festival have confirmed that American rapper Rick Ross was involved in a fight outside BC Place stadium on Sunday night after a video surfaced.
The Ignite music festival, in which Rick Ross was participating, was taking place at the Place des Nations, near the Stadium. The incident allegedly occurred after Rick Ross performed the song Not Like Us by Kendrick Lamar, a musical attack on Toronto rapper Drake.
A video posted on the social network X shows the rapper, in the middle of a crowd, having a vigorous verbal exchange with another man. The latter then appears to punch Rick Ross before a fight breaks out.
Lindsay Sparrow of Canadian Events Agency says she was backstage when the incident, which she calls short altercation
took place.
She said the incident was quickly brought under control by security services. She said she had not heard of any serious injuries related to the fight.
Neither ambulance services nor Vancouver police were called to the incident.
Rick Ross also has not commented.
