Gulf of Morbihan – Vannes agglomeration (GMVA) presented the summer program for the brand new country of art and history of Vannes (Morbihan).

For this edition, the activities extend across the entire city, which corresponds to 34 municipalities. “We have gone from a city of art and history to a country of art and history. Which considerably extends our scope of action”underlines Fabien Le Guernevé, elected to heritage for the agglomeration and deputy mayor of Vannes, in charge of culture and heritage. This label awarded by the Ministry of Culture is “more coherent in order to understand the history of the Vannes country”.

200 appointments offered

This change of status brings a lot of new features. With more than 200 events offered in the 34 municipalities of the Pays de Vannes, the objective is to highlight the best-known heritage, but also that of which we do not suspect the existence.

Mathilde Etot, responsible for audiences in the country of art and history, highlights three highlights of the summer program: “The excavations at the Château de l’Hermine are open to the public, we must take advantage of them before they are no longer accessible. » The second highlight is the promotion of Vannes urban art. “Finally we offer a visit to the Château-Gaillard de Vannes, an emblematic building, housing the archeology museum”concluded Mathilde Etot.
