A few days before the first round of early legislative elections, Lyon Capitale takes stock of the issues at stake in the vote, constituency by constituency. Focus on the 6th.

In the Villeurbanne constituency, the outgoing LFI deputy, Gabriel Amard, should retain his deputy seat without being worried, despite a dissident candidacy from the former PS mayor of Villeurbanne, Jean-Paul Bret.

The candidates in the 6th district:

  • Gabriel Amard (LFI / Popular Front), outgoing deputy
  • Délia Agus (RN)
  • Nadia Bouhami (Workers’ Struggle)
  • Jean-Paul Bret (PS)
  • Marc Fraysse (LR)
  • Joseph Basilien (Equinoxe Party)
  • Téyi Kékéli Lawson Doute (without label)
  • Raphaëlle Mizony (NPA)

  • Socialist Party: 16.6%
  • Renaissance : 10,8 %
  • Environmentalists: 9.9%

First round of the 2022 legislative elections:

  • Gabriel Amard, LFI : 41, 3 %
  • Emmanuelle Haziza, Horizons : 26.9%
  • Michèle Morel, National Rally: 10.8%

Second round of the 2022 legislative elections:

  • Emmanuel Haziza : 44.5%

The issue: the dissident left spoilsport?

Supported by Renaissance, which has not invested any candidate, the former PS mayor of Villeurbanne, Jean-Paul Bret could well invite himself to the second round and benefit from an anti-LFI “barrage” vote. A three-way race with the National Rally, which obtained 16.7% of the votes cast in the European elections, is not to be excluded either. Just like the prospect of a victory for Gabriel Amard in the first round, the left bloc having reached 53.3% in the European elections.
