The third edition of the Nîmes Pride March will take place on Saturday June 29 in Nîmes.

It is not only in Montpellier that citizens are mobilizing to defend LGBTQI+ rights! This highlight of a series of meetings organized by the Nîmes association l’Arène des Prides, in partnership with the City, will punctuate the lives of the Nîmes.

The Nîmes Pride March brought together more than 2,000 people last year, recalls the city. “This year we have four floats with sound. This march closes our year made up of events which campaign for access to the rights of the LGBTQI+ community and gives a little visibility. It is family-friendly and open to all,” explains Coline Lacome, president of the Arène des Prides association. If the parade – which leaves at 4 p.m. – is the highlight of this Saturday, the association offers other events in parallel.

More than 2,000 people last year

Saturday June 29 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., on the Charles-de-Gaulle esplanade, an association village is set up with free activities, around twenty association stands, conferences and debates. Also on Saturday June 29, from 6 p.m., festive moments are organized in different places in the city center. Programming on the Instagram of the Arena of Pride. On Sunday June 30 at 8 p.m. at Instant T, an LGBTQI+ lottery will be organized.

The route and program of the Pride Festival

The departure of the Nîmes Pride March will take place on Saturday June 29 at 4 p.m. from the Esplanade Charles-de-Gaulle, then direction boulevard Amiral-Courbet, boulevard Gambetta, boulevard Victor-Hugo, minute of silence in front of the Olive café and memory speech to the victims of HIV/Aids and LGBTQI+ phobias, return to the Boulevard de la Libération. Before the big day, the association also offers the “Pride Festival” made up of several events:

  • 6 p.m. at the Bar du Midi: poetry evening on the theme IN·DIGNE·ES
  • 8:30 p.m. at Prolé: Fanfare des Jajas, feminist choir
  • 10 p.m. at Pride Nîmes: solo concert by SIGNOR A. Stéphane Appourchau

THURSDAY JUNE 27

  • 7 p.m. in Gard o vin: wine tasting evening with an LGBTQI+ winemaker
  • 8 p.m. at Pride Nîmes: karaogay
  • 9 p.m. at Dancin’: Thursday what I want

FRIDAY JUNE 28

  • 8:30 p.m.: Association barathon with all partners
  • 21h au Dancin’ : DJ Laura Vaï
  • 9 p.m. at Pride Nîmes: DJ Billy RCPS
