In Nancy (Meurthe-et-Moselle), it is not just the city center that is undergoing transformation. THE Rives de Meurthe district will also undergo significant changes.

After the installation of a transitional cycle path on Boulevard d’Austrasie at the beginning of May, it is the turn of Florentin quaywhich borders the Marne-Rhine canal next to the Kinepolis, to enter a phase of works.

We take stock of upcoming disruptions and developments.

A street permanently closed to cars

As presented during a public meeting on April 19, 2024, the Florentin quay will be redeveloped to become a space reserved for pedestrians and cyclists.

“Following the consultation workshops and the restitution meeting for this project last April, the Métropole du Grand Nancy and the City of Nancy will carry out network and road works from June 24requiring the closure of rue Joseph Florentin to traffic between rue des cinq-piquets and rue du Maréchal Victor,” indicates the municipality in a press release.

Installation of picnic tables and deck chairs

The City of Nancy specifies that “this redevelopment project for the Quai Florentin aims to make the district greener, more attractive and pleasant to live in, while promoting soft mobility”.

Residents will benefit from new developments with revegetation and the installation of urban furniture : picnic tables, deck chairs, ping-pong tables and even bicycle racks.
