A new political bureau is to be convened this Wednesday to try to exclude the contested president from the party.

Behind the intense lightning campaign for early legislative elections, another war is continuing within Les Républicains on the legal front. Lawyers, jurists, sworn bailiffs and political leaders are working behind the scenes to resolve a regime crisis that never ends. On one side, there is Éric Ciotti, the contested president of the party, abandoned by his teams, but encouraged by his base, and who has no intention of abandoning the ship under pressure. On the other side, the LR bigwigs gathered around Laurent Wauquiez are determined to turn the “Ciotti” page as soon as possible.

Among the anti-Ciotti, operation “BP3” (third political bureau) was therefore launched to force Éric Ciotti to organize a political bureau (BP) on Wednesday, in order to mark the end of his presidency and his exclusion from the LR. Two similar attempts have already failed, but Emmanuelle Mignon and Aurélien Caron (formerly responsible for the LR project and studies, appointed before the implosion) remain convinced…
