ATR, the world leader in regional aviation headquartered in Blagnac, has chosen a new boss for the American market.

Christopher Jones has just been appointed head of the Americas region, since 1is July on behalf of ATR. It will also become from 1is next August, CEO and President of ATR Americas, Inc. Based in ATR’s offices in Miami, he now reports to Alexis Vidal, Chief Commercial Officer. ATR, a joint venture between Airbus and Italy’s Leonardo, has become the world leader in regional aviation with its ATR 42 and ATR 72 turboprop aircraft.

Thirty years of aeronautics

This newcomer to ATR has accumulated more than 30 years of experience in aircraft sales. After holding various management positions at Airbus, Bombardier and British Aerospace, he was previously sales director of Aero Design Labs, a Texas-based company that designs, develops and certifies drag reduction kits to limit the fuel consumption of commercial aircraft.

Previously, Christopher Jones was Chief Customer Officer for Airbus North America, where he managed all sales and commercial strategy for the region. Over a twenty-year career at Airbus, he has sold numerous models (A330neo, A350, A321neo/LR/XLR and A220). At Bombardier, he led the North American sales campaigns for the C-Series, which became the Airbus A220 after the acquisition by the Toulouse-based group.
