For most of them, the glory days are over. What does a friendly tournament involving young players and former pros represent when you have international references on your business card? Normally, just an opportunity to have fun with friends and have a good “feast”.

And yet, the fifth edition of the “Vin’T’Age” hosted this weekend by the Frontignan LPB was nothing like an All Star Game. If the atmosphere was festive around Roger-Arnaud, the spectators were treated to some great fights on the field. You can’t change your ways when you’re a competitor. The Spaniards led by Antoine Rigaudeau certainly won’t say otherwise…

This Sunday, for the final that pitted them against the Bourguignons Vieilles Vignes, triple title holders, the Valencians took on the appearance of a steamroller. Combativeness under the circle, exceptional outside address and sometimes animated discussions with the referees, they put all the ingredients. And we quickly understood, with a score of 54-29 at half-time. Finally victorious with a score of 71-63, the Spaniards will have put on quite a show, just like all the teams.

Not forgetting the girls of Isabelle Fijalkowski and Odile Santaniello, who offered a very high quality match, in an excellent state of mind, disputed until the last moments and won by the Santaniello team. A real success for anyone who loves beautiful basketball.
