It was at the call of the AFPS Roannaise, newly reactivated by a dynamic, essentially female team, that a march for peace was organized on Saturday March 16, aiming to make people hear and denounce the reality of the ongoing genocide in Palestine and particularly in Rafah and throughout the Gaza Strip.
The slogans heard were ”what we want, cease the fire!”, ”… children of Palestine, it is humanity that we are assassinating!” the tone was set by the AFPS volunteers followed by numerous associations, local political organizations and simple citizens who came to denounce of course the monstrosity of the ongoing genocide, but also the indifference of almost all of the media, and sometimes even their solicitude towards live in the state of Israel.
At the end of the demonstration, in front of the sub-prefecture, the speeches highlighted both the reality of the massacres perpetrated by the Israeli state against the Palestinian population, recalling the more than 30,000 dead men and women and children, the countless missing, and the current situation of the survivors locked in an open-air camp constantly bombed, without water, without food and without care of any kind.
The complicity of France, its government and its industrialists who finance and arm Israel, thus giving it the means and the legitimacy to carry out a genocide in front of everyone, was also vehemently denounced.
Taking advantage of the proximity of the end of the demonstration to the McDonald’s brand, the participants chanted a call for its boycott, as the latter (like the Carrefour group) widely publicizes its support for the genocidal Israeli army.
