This is a point that was not included on the agenda. The intervention of community councilor Philippe Caillaud, even before the start of the deliberations, did not even relate to this subject. But at the council of the agglomeration of Saint-Nazaire (Loire-Atlantique), the president David Samzun considered it necessary to justify its participation in a round table organized by the State. The subject: the consequences of the abandonment of the airport project at Notre-Dame des Landes.

Two confidentiality agreements

Opposition elected official Philippe Caillaud was in fact questioning the president on orders he had taken since the last session. A particular decree announcing two confidentiality agreements, one signed with Airbus, “the other, we do not know with whom…”

The community advisor demanded explanations on these agreements, saying that this kind of opacity was “the cancer of our society”.

A silence requested by the State

David Samzun responded by announcing the participation of the Saint-Nazaire agglomeration in a round table organized by the State on “the numerous consequences of the non-construction of the airport at Notre-Dame des Landes. We do not practice the empty chair policy.”

There is a counterpart.

“We will not accompany the State”

We will therefore not know what was said during these meetings. On the other hand, we know that the president of Carene also set his conditions.

One thing is clear: we will not support the State on the subject. I will not bear any consequences for the state’s negligence.

End of the president’s intervention. Philippe Caillaud relaunches him, “but you have signed two confidentiality agreements”. Response from David Samzun: “Sir, I answered you.” “No,” retorts the chosen one.
