The 53rd edition of the Interceltic Festival of Lorient (FIL) will take place from August 12 to 17, 2024. Due to the Olympic year, the festival has adapted: tighter edition, Sunday Grand Parade postponed to Thursday August 15 and spotlight on Celtic youth. A different edition but where the fundamentals remain with, in particular, a music bath offered in various places in the center of Lorient. If Breton dance music holds a place of choice, it is far from being exclusive to this festival which is widely open, to the Celtic world of course, with rock, pop or electro sounds.

An urban festival, the Interceltique de Lorient is not strictly speaking a music festival. However, the latter is on every stage, on every street corner, at every evening. To drive the wagon of invited artists during these seven days, a few headliners were needed, starting with Matmatah. The Brestois, whose first double album released in 2023 draws its inspiration from early Celtic rock, are going to show off. The FIL audience will be able to listen to Celkilt, Carlos Nuñez, Cécile Corbel, Emilie Jane White, Les Ramoneurs de Menhirs, Rodrigo Cuevas, An Dannsa Dub, Deira and even Soldas Louis.

Music to dance

The Interceltic Festival is an opportunity for many to put one foot in front of the other, without thinking about tomorrow, by simply letting themselves be carried away by the dance. And to help them, they can count on Fleuves, Caldo, Diskar and even the accordionist Thomas Moisson. 49 days before the festival, we offer you a small selection, admittedly a bit subjective, of the rich musical programming of the Interceltique. Perhaps the opportunity to discover Modkozmik Galactik, a Breton band where keyboards and brass respond to each other until they capsize you!
