“We arrived at 8 o’clock this morning”: in Montauban on stage, Patrick Bruel’s fans resisted the showers

“When you love, you don’t count.” The maxim was on the lips of many Patrick Bruel fans. Some had even arranged to meet since eight in the morning in front of the gates of the Jardin des Plantes, where the Montauban festival is being held on stage.

“We parked the car right in front,” smiles Hélène, as she brings back, around 4:30 p.m., the folding chairs that they had installed to make waiting more comfortable. She has already been to see “Patrick”, as she calls him, in Los Angeles, New York, London, Madrid and even Barcelona.

“More than thirty years that I have been”

Laetitia has been a fan since she was twelve. “I’ve been here for over thirty years,” she admits, returning from her vehicle. For Patricia, it was rather “Casser la voix” that made her heart change. For Caroline, her first concert with the singer of Place des grands hommes dates back to when she was nine years old. Around 4 p.m., she received a visit from her daughter, driven by her husband, for a little refreshment on Grand’Rue Sapiac. Everything is organized to the millimeter.

“I hope Patrick sees me!”

Along the sidewalk, around fifty people are present half an hour before the doors open. There’s Natacha, who arrived 2h30 earlier, with the “We’re talking about 2024” sweater, the singer’s tour, under her windbreaker. “I’ve been completely accepting for 35 years!”, she laughs. It is thanks to her son that she is here this Saturday, having obtained the precious ticket as a birthday present.

Sarah and Mary are also on a sort of pilgrimage. It’s been two years since they last saw each other. So, in the car that brought them from Albi (Tarn), they talked a lot, caught up on the news. Sylvy and Nathaly also come from Tarn, but from Gaillac. With her yellow poncho, the second hopes “that Patrick will see me!”
