The Franco-Algerian midfielder from Lille, Nabil Bentaleb, was hospitalized after “feeling unwell in the evening” on Tuesday June 18, 2024, LOSC said in a press release.

“The LOSC accompanies Nabil as closely as possible during this ordeal and gives him all its support.”

In a brief press release, the northern club indicates that Nabil Bentaleb, 29, suffered from illness on the evening of Tuesday June 18, leading to his hospitalization at the Lille University Hospital. “The club also calls for the best respect for the private life of its player.”

Originally from the Wazemmes district of Lille, Nabil Bentaleb left Angers to join LOSC, his favorite club, end of August 2023. A transfer delayed by several weeks of waiting after the discovery of an asymptomatic heart problem during the medical examination.

After an MRI, “we saw that there was a little inflammation in the myocardium”the Algerian international explained at the time.

At the end of August 2023, Olivier Létang assured that the heart problem could potentially generate a risk of sudden death, recalls the team. Nabil Bentaleb has played 34 matches this season with Lille, in all competitions.
