The prosecution notes this every day, motorists in Hainaut are often aggressive and undisciplined, ready to do battle for nothing on our roads. This is also what happened on February 15, 2023 on rue de Dour in Boussu.
On this road we have Enzo and his dad traveling in a Fiat. They are coming back from the supermarket. Enzo, who has had his license for a month, sits behind the wheel. There are also Jean and Chantal, who are in a Hyundai. At one point, both cars stopped.

It is eleven o’clock and the police are called to the scene. Jean has swelling in the orbit of his left eye and an open arch in his right eye. He says that a Fiat stuck with him for several kilometers, overtook him and blocked him. Two men got out of the car. The older man beat him while the younger one cracked the windshield with an iron bar.
Two versions, one witness
When questioned, Enzo and his father gave another version, stating that it was Jean who was hitting the Fiat, to the point of stressing the young driver, and that he was making threatening gestures. Enzo admits to having hit the windshield, but with his hand and not with an iron bar.
However, an independent witness, who went the other way, gave credence to Jean’s version. “It’s a mind-blowing and gratuitous scene. There are supporting photos. They went extremely far and the victims are traumatized. It is impossible to crack a windshield with your hand”, insists the couple’s lawyer, who requests the appointment of an expert and reimbursement for the damage caused to the car.

The public prosecutor also accepts the version of the complainants, credited by that of an independent witness. A labor sentence is proposed to condemn the father and his son.
Me Frédéric Guttadauria contests the use of an iron bar, “the witness doesn’t talk about it”, and nevertheless considers that these are very unpleasant facts. He pleads for a simple suspension for his clients, who have never had to be held accountable to the courts.
