NÎMES A stone’s throw from the hospital, a new commercial area is emerging

A new commercial area has just been created between the hospital and Saint-Césaire. Objective: to welcome businesses, catering and other businesses allowing, in Nîmes, to see the emergence of a new place to live.

It’s no longer a secret: in Nîmes, premises to accommodate businesses are rare. So much so that several dynamic executives have chosen to create a heritage property company – in which the majority of Bastide medical executives are located -. The latter’s mission is simple: buy, develop and then rent land. Among the projects carried out: the Carreau de Lanes sports complex and the premises where the La Saur site was once located.

The property company’s latest project to come to fruition: 3,800 square meters at 3324 avenue Kennedy. A strategic location between the hospital and 7,200 employees and the Saint-Césaire area destined to be renovated with a more efficient public transport network. It took more than a year and an investment of €4 million to develop this new space. “ In total, 6,000 m2 of new premises are available. They are modular, on demand, going from 150 m2 to 300 m2 », underlines Nicolas Balmelle, one of the members of the property company.

The Agora Course has already decided to rent premises, making it possible to train 300 students for the medical competition. “ The idea is to diversify activities by hosting catering », Continues Nicolas Balmelle, pointing to the large bay window which would be ideal for installing a brasserie. On the parking side, 70 spaces have been provided. “ More than a commercial area, we want to make it a real place to live », insists Roman Marcilly, also a member of Foncière du patrimoine but working in the real estate sector.
