Directed by Nicholas Carter and accompanied by soloist Marie Nicole Lemieux, the essential Orchester National du Capitole de Toulouse promises a remarkable performance, this Friday, June 28, during the IN Festival in Carcassonne.

For the opening of the Carcassonne IN Festival, it is the famous Orchester National du Capitole de Toulouse, conducted by Nicholas Carter, accompanied by soloist Marie Nicole Lemieux who will open the ball, for a memorable evening, on June 28.

“We come to Carcassonne regularly and we are very happy to participate in the OFF festival which is a popular festival with an electric program”, explains Jean-Baptiste Fra, general delegate of the orchestra. Created in the 1960s following the merger between the Orchester du Capitole and the Toulouse-Pyrénées Symphony Orchestra, the Orchester National du Capitole is a renowned ensemble which performs on the most prestigious stages around the world.

For its performance at the festival, the orchestra has planned an electric and captivating program. The overture to Rossini’s The Barber of Seville will open the ball with its energy and lightness, followed by Berlioz’s Summer Nights performed with finesse by Marie Nicole Lemieux. Finally, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 will close the evening, transporting the audience into a whirlwind of emotions and orchestral power.“It is a program designed both for music lovers but also for neophytes in order to encounter classical music”he confides.
