Now established in Béruges (Vienne), it will be set up for a weekend, on June 8 and 9, at the Château de Péré in Prissé-la-Charrière, on the occasion of the Plant and Plant Festival. of the garden.

Plants that can’t be found anywhere else

A celebration marked by a very symbolic number: it is the 50e, at the rate of two meetings per year, in June and October. Twenty-six years after the very first, 140 exhibitors from all over France are expected. In the park, the winery, the residence 19e herself. There have never been so many: “Every day, I refuse three or four people”testifies François-Xavier Bastard de Crisnay, creator of the event, still hard at work.

The reasons for this power of attraction? “The fame of the party. The wide variety of what is offered to visitors: we have a panel that allows us to bring in a lot of people. And we find plants in Péré that we can’t find anywhere else”observes François-Xavier Bastard de Crisnay.

In Péré, botany enthusiasts and gardening enthusiasts will find what they are looking for. But you can also come there to buy Japanese pottery, artisanal braziers, organic cosmetics, zero waste jewelry or tropical aromatic spices, the stand of which is always a big success.

Habits are formed. So this citrus specialist from the Pyrénées-Orientales, even before arriving in Péré last year, had already garnered 250 orders. Among the gems to discover in 2024: a collection of orchids from Guyana and three South American countries. Or a large European collection of roses that sells as far as Argentina or North America. Among the meetings to be made: Thibault Fabrègues. Creator of Oustal del Olibo, this young paraplegic from birth produces his own olive oil on the land of his ancestors which has remained fallow since 1956, and which he works today from a wheelchair.

Saturday June 8 and Sunday June 9 at the Domaine de Péré in Prissé-la-Charrière, from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Admission: €7 (reduced rate for job seekers and students on presentation of proof: €1 ). Free for under 16s. Permanent restoration.
