[PHOTOS] Premiere night for the new Quebec version of “La Cage aux Folles”

We rolled out the pink carpet Tuesday evening to inaugurate the new Crazy cage installed at the Studio-Cabaret of Espace St-Denis in Montreal.

Many of them responded to the call of the glitterati, curious to discover this 100% Quebec version of this classic of the French scene. Alex Perron and Marcel Leboeuf play Albin and Georges, a gay couple who own a drag queen cabaret located in the heart of the Village. Their routine is, however, turned upside down by the visit of the son of one of them announcing his intention to get married… and to introduce them to his particularly conservative in-laws.

The show – directed by Joël Legendre and also featuring the talents of Delphine Morissette, Guillaume Borys and Geneviève Brouillette – is on display in Montreal until November 16. A provincial tour should follow.
