Two days of jubilation and pride are planned in the main cities of the region as the Olympic Flame prepares to cross lands steeped in history and tradition.

Stage 46 – The North – Tuesday July 2

The inaugural journey of the Olympic Flame will begin in Avesnes-sur-Helpe, where the imposing fortifications will bear witness to the town’s glorious past. Then, in Dunkirk, the flame will illuminate the belfry, proud guardian of the region’s maritime history for centuries.

The flame will continue its journey through emblematic places like Wallers-Arenberg, famous for the Trouée d’Arenberg, and Cambrai, known for its sweet treats. The journey will end in Lille, where the Flame will set the busy streets ablaze before blooming on the Champ de Mars, at the foot of the majestic Citadel.

The celebration site will be open to all from 3:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the Champs de Mars in Lille
