Friborg residents can now open their electronic patient file (DEP) in the main entrance of the Friborg Hospital (HFR), in Villars-sur-Glâne. The Department of Health and Social Affairs inaugurated this information and registration desk this Wednesday, in partnership with the HFR and the French-speaking Cara association, which promotes digital health.
In a joint press release, the three entities recall that the DEP aims “to optimize the exchange of information and to strengthen the coordination of care” between patients and health professionals. Belonging to the patient, “their data encrypted and stored in Switzerland complies with the federal law on electronic patient records”.
When visiting the counter, all you need is your ID and a smartphone with access to an email. The canton of Friborg currently has 1,630 open DEPs, compared to 577 on November 1. An increase that the partners explain by the simplification of the opening procedure via video identification.
