The accident occurred early this Monday morning on the A7 motorway, near Cavaillon.

It’s a rather unusual load, even more so in an accident. This Monday morning, traffic was cut off on the A7 motorway in the Sénas sector towards Lyon for more than two hours.

An accident involving several vehicles including at least one truck and a vehicle with a trailer occurred around 6:30 a.m., Vinci reported on the social network X. The hives which were attached to the trailer by straps fell onto the road. Traffic had to be stopped. “No one dares to approach, it stings”, confided a person at the scene of this spectacular accident, reports Le Dauphiné Libération. Four people were slightly injured.

The hives, which are made of wood, smashed to the ground and specialized teams intervene to collect the debris. Beekeepers wearing gloves and masks stepped in with their protective gear. We do not yet know the extent of the damage to bees, but several hives were destroyed.
