Sunday January 5 at 5 p.m., in the Saint-Hilaire church, the Orchester national de Montpellier Occitanie will offer a concert entitled “Romanticism of the East” by the string quintet.
Faithful to its mission of promoting and raising awareness of classical music, the Montpellier Occitanie National Orchestra Opera travels the region with various groups. During its next stopover in Mèze, the string quintet will transport the audience through various eras and cultures. The ensemble will begin this concert with the Quintet No. 2 in G major opus 77 by Antonín Dvorák, an emblematic work of Eastern European romanticism.
Then, head to Brazil with the Sonate in ré “Burrico de Pau” by Carlos Gomes, evoking the innocence and joy of childhood. The five musicians will conclude with Rodapião by Clarice Assad, a piece inspired by jazz, popular Brazilian music and world music. An evening rich in emotions and musical discoveries.
