No winner in the English derby! At the end of an exciting and committed match, neither Liverpool nor Manchester United left with victory. It was the visitors who opened the scoring at the start of the second half thanks to Lisandro Martinez (52nd). But the Reds woke up thanks to Cody Gakpo (59th) and Mohamed Salah on a penalty (70th). United were able to equalize at the end of the match with a nice cross strike from Amad Diallo (80th) but missed the match point in added time. Final score, two goals everywhere, Liverpool remains leader, Manchester United moves up to 13th place.
Lisandro Martinez shower Anfield
We promised hell to the Red Devils coached by the Portuguese Ruben Amorim who remained before this trip to Anfield on 4 defeats in a row in all competitions. However, not helped by pre-match snowfall and torrential rain, United were able to put on an attractive face despite the Reds' onslaught. Dutch winger Cody Gakpo first crossed his shot too much to worry André Onana (14th), before Alexis Mac Allister, well served by Mo Salah, was able to warm the gloves of the Cameroonian goalkeeper (16th).
Bruno Fernandes' teammates stood together without breaking and caused a huge thrill in the Anfield bays when Rasmus Hojlund appeared alone against Alisson, but the Liverpool goalkeeper pushed back (42nd). The visitors ended up being rewarded for their good match thanks to the powerful shot from Argentine defender Lisandro Martinez, well found by Fernandes in the Liverpool area (52nd).
