Saturday, December 21 from 8:30 p.m. at the Gabarret entertainment room, the musicians of the Harmony “Les Copains d’abord”, the band “Los Amigos” and the Gabarret music school celebrated the Sainte-Cécile with musicians from the music schools of Saint-Justin and Cazaubon-Barbotan les Thermes.
That evening, the entertainment room was full, there was no more seating and many people remained standing at the back of the vast room.
The first part of the concert was hosted by students from the three music schools. The clarinets joyfully opened the concert with Duo d’Automne, then Let’s Son. The saxophones took over with Belle rose vermeille, then the trumpets performed Sucre Candy. Then the cadet orchestra of Gabarret, Saint-Justin, Cazaubon, under the direction of conductor Damien Saint-Marc, played five pieces. The audience, through its enthusiastic applause, expressed that it had greatly appreciated this well-performed repertoire.
The second part of the concert was hosted by Gabarret’s Harmonie des Copains d’abord. Under the direction of music director Julien Duzan, the musicians energized the audience with a repertoire of seven very rhythmic pieces.
