Marked in time for half a century, the Christmas concert given annually at the beginning of December, in the Saint Martin de Noé church by the vocal group
“In Noah’s Choir” was a resounding success. A large audience gave a warm welcome to the Noemian choristers, enhanced for the occasion by some beautiful voices from the Bérat choir. Under the deserved applause of the assembly, the vocal group enthusiastically led by Sandra Ys introduced the first part of the concert with the essential “Se Canto”. A traditional song known to all, sung in Occitan, followed by an entirely renewed repertoire, around great standards of French song, whose best-known refrains were taken up by the public, invited to join the choristers by the conductor choir. The second part of the show entitled “Vers Noël” focused on the timeless Christmas carols. A finale that arrived much too early, to the loud applause of the assembly where the choristers sang one of Ms. Edith Piaf’s greatest hits, “My lover of Saint Jean”. A concert with the common theme of the duo of teachers from the Noémian music school, Francisco and Nicolas, enchanting the audience, performing great classics on the guitar. Anne and Jean from the Noémian association “Tire Boutons” provided the musical interludes and the closing of the show with their diatonic accordion. A poem and a Christmas story were respectively read by Gisèle and Angel, president of the choir who thanked the public for their loyalty, the municipality of Noé and Father Harry for their support and Sandra Ys, whose quality of teaching made the group progress well. With 15 singers, including 2 new female voices and 2 male voices,
“Au choir de Noé” is still recruiting choristers.
