Jean-Claude Brun aka JABrun, was born in Montpellier in 1942. Orphaned by his father at 6 years old, he often stayed with his aunt in Valras-Plage where he met artists. With his mechanic uncle, he practiced painting and sculpture by welding. It was the revelation of a passion that would never leave him.
During his professional career as a teacher, as a clinical psychologist, then as a psychoanalyst, he devoted himself at the same time to art. “A life without all the arts would be unbreathable for me”affirms the artist. It was at the age of 8 that he sold his first painting and at 12 his first sculpture. The artist, self-taught by choice of unrestricted freedom, does not make a living from his art, even if he has produced an enormous number of works. “The very eclectic visual artist of reality” as he defines himself is both curious and passionate beyond the limits of reason.
He organized major exhibitions, notably devoted to his favorite theme: Don Quixote. The garden of his Valras house breathes La Mancha and is full of sculptures of the visionary knight and his faithful squire. JABrun, as a painter “ideique” uses all the resources of our time, acrylic on canvas, digital creation on an aluminum tablet (except artificial intelligence) to offer an anthology of eclectic and warm works. An exhibition of his paintings can be discovered at the Domaine de la Yole (tunning room) from January 7 to February 11.
