The advertising for L’Irréducible festival, in Quimper (Finistère), did not go unnoticed: the organizers announced that they would offer, on Sunday June 30, 2024, a sausage pancake, cooked by their partner Hénaff, to anyone who would have gone to vote.

Charline and Christophe discovered it “on arriving at the site. We went to vote this morning in Lannion (Côtes-d’Armor)where we live, and we drove to Quimper to be there tonight,” Christophe says between two mouthfuls. “Last night, we were at a fest-noz and they told us the same thing: we have to go and vote for culture! » completes his companion.

“Bringing lightness”

To enjoy themselves at the Irréductible, they presented their voter cards. This was the sesame to present at the entrance, or a selfie in front of the ballot box or even a proxy. “The goal was to bring lightness to a complicated situation,” explain the organizers, Mathieu Gourmelen and Benjamin Bozec. But without political label.

“Whatever happens and whatever the outcome of the elections, we will continue. Saturday evening, we participated in Breton dances in front of the Celkilt group. This is the mix we want. »

Eiffel next year

With 13,000 entries this year and 400 volunteers (9,000 entries last year), a second stage, a square organization and an atmosphere as family and friendly as it is festive, the Irréducible enters the big leagues. To celebrate, next year, the Eiffel group is already scheduled and the electro scene could be organized under a marquee with the DJ in the middle and the group around.
