It is an original initiative to say the least which aims to encourage as many people as possible to complete their civic duty. Indeed, dedicated to feminine creation and matrimony, the Rosa Bonheur Festival of Thomery (Seine-et-Marne) launched a somewhat unusual operation to encourage all voters to go to the polling stations.

“Do your homework and then we’ll have fun together.”

Created in 2020, at the end of the first confinement, the Rosa Bonheur Festival is an annual event which takes place in the gardens of the magnificent By Castlein the town of Thomery, nestled in the heart of the Fontainebleau forest and in the running this year for the title of “French favorite village”.

Its goal: “to shine the spotlight on the masterpieces of our “heritage”” and to honor the fight of Rosa Bonheur, a famous animal artist who lived in this residence for a long time: “ demonstrate that genius has no gender ».

But for its 2024 edition, which takes place from July 6 to August 31, the organization has chosen to innovate. Indeed, in the middle of an electoral period, the festival decided to offer a 50% discount on the first concert of the season to anyone who went to vote in the legislative elections (the vote takes place on Sundays June 30 and July 7).

“We hear everywhere that everyone should go and vote. But the incentive to vote is done in a rather heavy-handed way. For our part, we have opted to do it in a lighter way by saying “You do your homework and then we have fun together and we come to listen to music in the grass at the castle of Rosa Bonheur “”, explains thus Katherine Braultowner of the premises.

An idea born from the imagination of his daughter, who also works at the castle: “I don’t know exactly how it came to her, but it immediately seemed obvious to us, we didn’t hesitate for a second to put it in place. It is very important that everyone is involved as citizens, everyone has their stone to contribute to the building “, she believes.

Bring proof of your vote

From a concrete point of view, the principle of the operation is simple. The first step is to enter the code “ VOTE24 » when booking your ticket for the concert on July 7 (at 6:30 p.m.).

This will be given by Raphaele Lanadere (L) : “It’s very beautiful, very soft, very tender. They are pretty ballads, so we thought it was also very good to associate it with that,” confides Katherine Brault.

You will then have to go and vote, if possible in both rounds: “It is especially the second round that we are aiming for, since it is the day of the concert, but it is obviously better if people have voted in both rounds”, she specifies.

Last step : present proof of your vote at the entrance to the concert. This could be your proxy, your stamped electoral card or even a selfie at the polling station. After that, all you have to do is enjoy the concert in the sublime setting of Château de By.

To reserve your place for the Raphaèle Lanadère concert (L) or for any other concert of the festival, go to the website www.chateau-rosa-bonheur.fr.
Address: 12 rue Rosa Bonheur, 77810 Thomery
