uPart of the Graspop Metal Meeting parking lot is unusable due to the heavy rains which fell on Belgium this Tuesday. The organization of the extreme music festival which will take place from Thursday to Sunday in Dessel and the municipal authorities are therefore forced to adjust the mobility plan.
Two days before the start of the festival, the Graspop site and the campsite do not pose insurmountable problems, according to the organizers. The situation is quite different for land intended for parking lots.
Therefore, festival-goers will be allowed to park in and along the streets of Dessel, as was already the case in 2016, local authorities inform. “This must of course be done in compliance with the law,” specifies the municipality, which asks festival-goers and local residents to “understand this exceptional situation”.
Graspop also reminds that each year, the festival encourages the use of public transport or cycling. Shuttles are planned from Mol station and a system of park & bike is set up from more distant car parks.
The 2024 edition of Graspop is sold out. Tool, Judas Priest, Bring Me The Horizon and Scorpions will be on the bill.
