Marseilles. A free Massilia Sound System concert at the Old Port

Massilia Sound System, a legendary music group from Marseille, is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2024. For the occasion, the group is organizing a major free concert.

The event is scheduled for this July 19, 2024on the floating stage of the Old Port.

A free event

After the concert by Alonzo and Soprano on the occasion of the arrival of the Olympic flame, the floating stage of the Old Port is making a comeback. The Massilia Sound System group will ignite the port to celebrate, as it should, its 40 candles.

In the first part, the group called on the musical poetry duo Chichi and Banana as well as the rapper Sétois Half Portion. Enough to warm up the audience before the arrival on stage of the Marseille reggae collective.

Next to 10,000 people should participate in this free event, organized as part of Marseillais Summer 2024.

An iconic group

The group made their first public appearance on May 20, 1984 at Cours Julien. 17 albums later, they continue to captivate crowds around the world.

Their anniversary concert promises to offer a memorable experience and to celebrate, in Marseille, their extraordinary career.
