Season 8 of the show Married at First Sight (M6) is full of surprises. For Laurie and Jean-Nicolas, things started under the best auspices. Indeed, their compatibility rate was estimated at 76% by the show’s experts. The two marriage aspirants therefore did not hesitate to put the ring on each other’s fingers. The wedding ceremony took place in Gibraltar.
Relatives of the two candidates from the M6 show were present for the occasion. The couple then took advantage a stay in Bilbao, Spain, for their honeymoon. And it was during this trip that Jean-Nicolas made some awkward remarks about his wife’s physique.

During the honeymoon, Laurie changed his behavior towards Jean-Nicolas, to the great dismay of the latter. While jogging, the young bride called her best friend Florine and explained to her why she had completely changed with her husband. So she told him on the phone: “On the plane to the honeymoon, I ask him what he thought of me when I arrived. And basically, he said that he doesn’t like me physically at all. ! I admit that it upset me a little.”

To calm the situation, the candidate decided to discuss with her husband, in order to put things straight. The expert Gilbert Bou Jaoudé also intervened with the young man to explain to him that his behavior had been inappropriate. The couple managed to ease tensions. Despite the discussions, Laurie still feels some difficulty accepting comments issued by Jean Nicolas. Sheepishly, the latter first apologized for having hurt her. Laurie then reminded him that he had criticized him for having “extra pounds”, which Jean-Nicolas denied. “At the time, it really hurt me! I went home, I wondered why you told me that, it’s not happening”she explained. She then criticized him for lacking maturity. “I’m a fairly calm person, quite mature, I don’t really appreciate the fact that you denigrate me by telling me that I’m not mature”replied Jean-Nicolas.

Sure of her words, Laurie then replied: “We’re going to put things back where they belong! You criticized me for my appearance, now I’ll explain my feelings. Plus, I stay factual! This is not an opinion.” Then the discussion got a little heated. Laurie made a definitive statement: “I think it’s clear between us. So, we’re not going to stay together… We’re definitely getting divorced.”
