EXCLUSIVE – The rising figure of French rap is referred to justice for violence, death threats or kidnapping against six former companions. All describe the repetition of the same infernal pattern.

At the wheel of German sedans, attractive extras in the passenger seat, Moha la Squale drives at high speed. The passenger compartment is invaded by a cloud of smoke from joints lit over the miles, the frenetic verve captured by the camera. The same sequence which is featured in most of the clips of the former rising figure of French rap. Like an echo of this career which experienced a sudden rise, before the artist, whose real name is Mohamed Bellahmed, was overtaken by his demons.

In 2020, testimonies from ex-partners emerged on social networks presenting the man who was then the face of the Lacoste brand as a violent, jealous, paranoid man. Then everything comes together. An indictment, a stay in prison, a flight abroad. Since then, Moha la Squale’s career has been at a standstill and he will now have to answer in court from July 2 for violence, death threats or kidnapping against six women who shared his life. Through exclusive documents, Le Figaro returns to this affair which, beyond the personality of the artist, testifies to the #MeToo movement which affected the music industry at the time.
