Even though Chris Evans knew what would happen in the final battle of “Avengers: Endgame,” he still couldn’t contain his emotions as he watched it on the big screen for the first time alongside fans…

During the premiere of Avengers: Endgame, Chris Evans stopped being Captain America to become an amazed fan of the saga in which he has long shone.

Thirteen years ago, the actor became a key member of the Marvel franchise taking on the role of Steve Rogers, aka Captain America. From 2011, when he started his journey, until 2019, when he completed it with Endgame, Chris Evans has been an important and integral part of the MCU’s history.

And despite being a mainstay of the franchise for many years and having in-depth knowledge of all the plot twists and turns, the actor admitted he still got goosebumps watching some of his iconic moments. He thus revealed that a particular scene in Endgamewhich he discovered for the first time on screen in a crowded room during the film’s preview, had made him feel all kinds of emotions.

An unforgettable moment

The Avengers saga featured many iconic scenes and moments that excited fans like never before. Although these segments were designed to elicit these strong reactions from the audience, the emotional magnitude of these moments was also felt by the Marvel actors themselves, and especially Chris Evans.

The scene that gave him goosebumps? That of the final battle of the Avengers against Thanos, while Captain America ends up brandishing Mjölnir, Thor’s hammer, a scene which made the audience around him react strongly. This moment then brought him back to the state of a child fascinated by the magic of cinema, as he himself declared (via Marvel Facts).

The first time I saw Endgame was at the premiere. Normally, I see the films I’m working on well in advance, and I rarely attend previews (too much anxiety). But being the final installment of a ten-year journey, I wanted to experience this final film the same way audiences would. When Cap brandished Mjölnir, the whole room went absolutely crazy. Even though I knew the moment was coming, I was still emotional. In the following weeks, friends and family would send me clips from theaters around the world, collectively freaking out at the time. Seeing these reactions and knowing that I was lucky enough to be a part of these memories for these people made me feel a sense of pride and gratitude that I will never be able to properly express. In these moments, I am not an actor, or even an adult: I am a little child again, completely captivated by the power and magic that films can exert. Damn… My throat tightens.

And if already the emotions of a fan facing this scene in particular – and many others – are impossible to describe, we can’t even imagine what that must have felt Chris Evans. However, we have a little idea…
