PEOPLE – There is no longer a heart to be taken, and that is understandable. This Friday June 7, Chester Cathedral will be the scene of the wedding of Hugh Grosvenor, the 7th Duke of Westminster, to Olivia Henson. The couple made their engagement official in April 2023 by posting a photo taken at Eaton Estate, the Grosvenors’ family seat. Although they are both very discreet, their wedding promises to be the event of the year.
And for good reason, with a fortune estimated at 10.1 billion pounds (11.8 billion euros), Hugh Grosvenor is the richest person under 40 in the United Kingdom. Often nicknamed “ Britain’s hottest bachelorthe 33-year-old billionaire is the chairman of the Grosvenor Group, a real estate company he inherited following the death of his father Gerald in 2016.
The lucky one is Olivia Henson, a 31-year-old commoner who studied at Marlborough College, a prestigious boarding school attended by Kate and Pippa Middleton as well as Princess Eugenie. According to the British media Sky Newsthe future duchess currently works at an ethical food company and is said to have met Hugh Grosvenor through mutual friends.
Members of the royal family among the guests?
The couple only made their first public appearance last May. According to several English media, many personalities from the British aristocracy are expected among the guests.
The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, will not be present due to her cancer treatment. Furthermore, although Hugh Grosvenor is close to Princes William and Harry (he is the godfather of William’s son, Prince George, as well as Harry’s son, Prince Archie), only Prince William will attend the wedding.
Vanity Fair reports that Hugh Grosvenor and Prince Harry have agreed that Harry and his wife Meghan Markle will not attend the ceremony in order to avoid any media speculation regarding their strained relationship with the royal family, which could harm the event. Queen Camilla and King Charles III will also not be present.
