Ukraine, Gaza, Sudan, projections of the European elections… In 2024, fraternity and mutual aid do not yet seem to be among the top priorities. Fortunately, there are initiatives that restore faith in humanity, such as the Refugee Food Festival. Since 2016, Marine Mandrila and Louis Martin, the founders of the association and integration company Refugee Food, have tirelessly proven that cooking can be a powerful engine for meetings, exchange, peace and integration.
For this 9th edition, whose godmother is Alessandra Montagne (Tempero), the festival comes to Paris from 12 to June 24, 2024 (and in 11 other French cities). The principle is simple: every day, a restaurant offers an exceptional meal cooked up with four hands by a local chef and an exile.
And be careful, THE addresses send vouchers, with, among others: Nosso for a Palestinian-Brazilian collaboration between Lulwa Elsarraj and Alessandra Montagne (June 12); Buttes Snack Bar For a Franco-Syrian dinner by Maha Achkar and Clément Vezat (June 19); Or The girlfriend for a dinner Franco-Algerian by Assia Zelbah (commis chef at Lago!) and Chloé Charles (June 21st). The fence will take place in the bucolic setting of the Chalet des Iles Daumesnil with a banquet with Ukrainian and Palestinian inspirations by Olena Fedorishyna, Lulwa Elsarraj, Ruba Khoury (Dirty Lemon) and Sugio Yamagushi.
