Early detection of diabetes is vital to avoid later complications. “Diabetes sometimes goes unnoticed because certain symptoms go unnoticed. However, it is better to identify diabetes earlier so that you can avoid complications later”, underlines Dr Patel to the media Gloucestershire Live. He also explains that there are two main types of diabetes. “Type 1 diabetes is where your body does not produce insulin. There is no way to prevent this type of diabetes and its exact cause is currently unknown. THE Type 2 diabetes, this is where your body isn’t producing enough insulin, or the insulin you’re producing isn’t working properly. This type of diabetes usually occurs in adulthood and can be affected by lifestyle choices as well as other factors”notes the specialist.
