The 24-year-old man was driving at over 200 km/h on the motorway, heading towards Paris. While in police custody, he tested positive for narcotics.

Rapper Zola was taken into custody on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, after refusing to comply, in Essonne, it has been learned The Figaro of the national gendarmerie.

The 24-year-old man was driving a Mini Cooper S at over 200 km/h with his headlights off on the A6 towards Paris when a crew on site ordered him to stop and carry out a road check.

Arrested near his home

Refusing to comply, the rapper continued his journey and left the highway to return to his home, located in the department. He was arrested near his home during the night, the gendarmerie said, and taken into custody where he tested positive for narcotics.

This new refusal to comply comes at a time when the country is gripped to the highest levels of government by the death of a warrant officer in the gendarmerie, hit head-on by the black sedan of a reckless driver who evaded a road check on Monday evening in Mougins, in the Alpes-Maritimes.

Last March, rapper Zola expressed, in a post on Instagram, his anger and shock at the announcement of the release of a motorist who had fatally hit his mother in June 2023.
