It’s almost a gift! The price of a liter of this fuel, offered at this French service station at 64.9 cents. The only problem is that this is a price that concerns super ethanol-E85. In any case, it is this extraordinary price that was displayed in recent hours on the totem of the service station managed by the large retail chain Système U. In this case, the one located in Ustaritz, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department (64). Thus, for a 50-litre tank filled up at the Système U station in this town, the bill in recent days came to… €32.45! Who says better? Nobody.
Real purchasing power is E85
This price, the cheapest in France in this area, is indicated on the specialized website carburants.org. Note that, in many other stations spread across the country, all brands combined, the price of a liter of E85 currently fluctuates between 73 and 78 cents, while the average price of super ethanol is displayed on this Thursday, August 29 at €0.849which is by far the cheapest fuel in metropolitan France. Therefore, even with an overconsumption of around 20% compared to a vehicle running on diesel or conventional petrol, E85 is an excellent deal in France, economically speaking. Finally, it should be noted that the prices of “traditional” fuels remain at lower levels than they were a few months ago: a litre of diesel is sold at an average price of €1.651, and that of unleaded petrol at €1.773 on average in France (€1.753 for E10, €1 for LPG).
