Mya Lesnar Shares Her Dad’s Biggest Advice

Mya Lesnar, daughter of Brock Lesnar, continues her progress in the shot put as previously mentioned on Catch-Newz. She breaks records in the field and hopes to have a great career from it.

This week, Mya Lesnar was at a press conference after a competition and she took the opportunity to share the greatest advice her father gave her in her career and emphasizes how much he supports her:

”My dad is one of my biggest fans, but at the end of the day I’m here to make a name for myself. I think I’ve been in his shadow for so many years, which is cool, I guess. For me, at the end of the day, what I want people to know is that he’s my dad. I don’t see him as a superstar. The fact that he’s in my corner, that I’m in the spotlight and he’s kind of in my shadow and he’s watching me, it’s super cool.

This isn’t going to sound great, but right after I won my NCAA title, he said to me, “Take it all in, enjoy it, and then put it all aside and move on.” Honestly, at first I was like, “What do you mean?” I had literally dreamed of this day and it was an incredible moment. Then I thought about it, and that’s how life happens. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and it’s important to recognize all the hard work you’ve put in, but the most important thing he taught me was to not let trophies or anything you have done change a person.

I did my best to succeed, but also not to have an ego […] for the things I’ve done. It might sound really cliché, but I guess I’ve just moved on and I’m ready for the next step. That’s how he’s always lived.”

His full statement:

Mya Lesnar hoped to participate in the Paris Olympic Games, but she was unable to qualify in first place against the other Americans in the discipline. Which confirms thatshe will not be able to participate in the 2024 Olympics since she was not selected for Team USA, barring a major change due to absence from the team.
