On the occasion of the 55th edition of the Rencontres d’Arles, and while we cover the famous photography festival every summer, Konbini is taking advantage of carte blanche to bring you the “Night of the Year” this Saturday, July 6. On the program, “a photographic walk in the Cavalière district” and a musical evening carefully prepared to multiply pleasures, passions and discoveries.
The evening will begin with Mixlab Crew and its DJs mixing house, afro house and tech house, followed by one of the eclectic DJ sets of Marseillaise Sweet Juju, “influenced by electronic music and its British mutations as well as by many musical trends from local scenes”. How to program a musical evening in the south-east of France without inviting the Twerkistan collective and its immersive experiences where the audience is an integral part of the show.
The evening will end with a B2B between Andy4000 and GЯEG. The former has no ambition other than to turn the dancefloors upside down, “whether they are composed of hip-hop aficionados, festival-goers eager for thrills or fashionistas in need of Italo-disco”. For his part, GЯEG is a member of the afro/avant-garde label Boukan Records, a resident of the Parisian parties La Créole, and present on the webradio Rinse France. Enough to expend all his energy before moving on, the next morning, to the forty or so exhibitions that are scattered around the city until September 29th and allow you to discover artists from all over the world, already well established (Mary Ellen Mark, Sophie Calle, etc.) or emerging (Tshepiso Mazibuko, Cemil Batur Gökçeer, Marilou Poncin, etc.)
