Can you tell us about the Skoda brand, on an international level, but also in terms of brand identity?

The brand was created almost 130 years ago, in 1895, under the name Laurin & Klement. It was basically two cycling fans who initiated the brand and who have made its entire evolution today. The spirit of mobility, the technical elements, were first expressed through the bicycle, the motorcycle, to end with cars. Today, we are one of the oldest automobile manufacturers in the world.
What we can say about the Skoda brand is that it is an accessible dream. It offers the best without hurting your wallet. With a record-sized cabin, one of the largest on the market in the categories in which it operates. There is elegance, there is technological reliability. We are also renowned for our robustness and we have a very low after-sales service return rate.
There is real strength in this product, in its very qualitative side. At the same time there is comfort, maximum safety and functionality. This is what corresponds to our slogan “Simply Clever”, that is to say excellent value for money with options that are always very “smart” and which simplify everyday life. Simply Clever, so to speak, are the ingenious little details that make the car exceptional.

The brand has belonged to the Volkswagen group since 1991. In Morocco, it has been marketed since 1999. Internationally, Skoda is performing very well, since we had a 4.7% market share in 2018. In 2023, we have a 5.2% market share. . This places us in seventh position in Europe, with Volkswagen which is number 1 and its 10% market share and Toyota number 2, with 6% market share (2023). Followed by Renault 5.8%, Audi 5.4%, BMW 5.4%, Mercedes 5.3%, and Skoda 5.2%. In other words, apart from the two leaders, Volkswagen and Toyota, which are similar to the general market, only the premium brands are ahead of Skoda, which is a source of great pride for the brand.
