It is time to take stock for the Library and Documentation Center (BCD) association of Sainte-Honorine-la-Guillaume (Orne). Next to 2 955 livres are there while 466 loans have been recorded for the 2023-2024 school year.
Classes benefit from a “library slot” during which each child in the school can read or borrow one or two books per week.
Renew the books
For this new year, the Library and Documentation Center (BCD) association of Sainte-Honorine-la-Guillaume will continue to renew its works and equipment. The new features are defined depending on the theme of the year and the students’ ideas. Around a hundred works have already been acquired. Cultural outings and shows are also always offered.
More than 30 years of existence
In order to finance itself, the association organizes book sales during school events and benefits from funding from the Community of Communes of Val d’Orne, up to €7 per child, and from the municipality , estimated at €500.
The association was created in 1992 by a collective of parents and elected officials to develop a taste for reading among children at school. The BCD is located within the grounds of the Sainte-Honorine-la-Guillaume school. This association still lives thanks to the mobilization of parent volunteers and teachers from kindergarten to CM 2.
