The initiative aims to make the parking space more pleasant and user-friendly for visitors. The director of the Musée d’art contemporain de Baie-Saint-Paul, Gabrielle Bouchard, however mentioned that the security of this location was an element of this decision:

The alley will be separated into several zones, namely reception, followed by mediation and creation spaces. In this area, several large tables will be dedicated to creation.

The Faux Bergers restaurant will have an installation in the “Placette Desjardins”, the “Content Bar”. It will be a place to grab small bites and refreshing drinks, Wednesday through Saturday, starting at noon.

We will also find a film projection area. For the moment, no film categories are selected, so several tests will be carried out. “The goal is for it to really be a complete experience rather than ‘I enter the museum and I leave the museum,’” said Gabrielle Bouchard.

Several initiatives have been undertaken to make the alley ecological. To reduce the urban heat island footprint, part of the asphalt has been painted fuchsia pink, and rainwater collection tanks will be installed there.

It’s a community project and Gabrielle Bouchard is not worried about the population’s participation:

The official opening of the “Plalette Desjardins” will take place on Wednesday, June 19, during a happy hour evening with DJ.

This Saturday, June 22 at 2 p.m. the opening of the exhibition duo OUTSIDE dedicated to the Charlevoix multidisciplinary artist Karine Locatelli and the painter René Richard. Highlighting the respective work of the two artists, Dehors will reveal the pleinarist artistic trajectory of the artists, both inspired by their relationship to the territory and immersing themselves in the Charlevoix region.
