The Spurs will see some changes this summer, with the arrival of Stephon Castle and Chris Paul in recent days. Their new starting 5 is quite promising.
Even if the franchise is not going to suddenly play for the title from one season to the next, the Spurs will have some ambition within the Western Conference next year. The front office wants to string together victories and why not reach the play-in, especially since the signing of Chris Paul. The latter is welcome, he who will bring a boost to the point guard position while helping the young players.
What will Spurs’ new major 5 look like?
We’re not even talking about young Stephon Castle, who will want to shine quickly for his first season in the NBA, while reassuring observers about his shooting. Some people are already having fun imagining San Antonio’s new starting 5 for this next campaign, and it’s fair to say that it’s rather enticing on paper.

Creation, defense and a bit of shooting: this Spurs starting 5 could hurt a lot if everything goes well. Wembanyama would obviously be considered the main player in attack, especially with a CP3 capable of finding him at any time. It remains to be seen the impact of Castle, who will have to quickly find his bearings.
Let’s not forget that with Popovich, it’s possible that Castle will be relegated to the bench early in the season while he gets to know the NBA better.
CP as the playmaker. Castle as the point of attack, the defender on the back line. Dev as your primary/secondary scorer. Jeremy as the defender on the wing and cut finisher. Wemby as the primary option.
A tempting major 5 for the Spurs, even if a change is possible if the Texan franchise takes further action on the market. The arrival of Chris Paul will in any case do a lot of good.
