the essential
The work “Rimes en plein rave” by the writer Matthieu Kondryszyn, presents his mixture of poetry and techno music at the Nailloux media library, in Haute-Garonne. A collection of poems that go off the beaten track.

Noise that resonates in the body, bass that gives goosebumps, rave parties have been talked about a lot, and have been spreading around the world for around thirty years. Born in the 1980s, techno stands out with its digital sound and very present rhythms. But how to mix poetry and rave party? Matthieu Kondryszyn, a police officer in the Paris region, has found the recipe for combining these two extremes, one of which he encounters regularly in his professional life. In his book Rimes en plein rave, currently on display at the Nailloux media library until June 29, he finds the balance between these different arts, but both expressing a particular emotion.

“I wanted to release this book at all costs. Techno was my first passion, it was important to me to produce a work on this theme,” recalls Matthieu. A passion that was passed on to him by his father, who also wrote poems. “Without realizing it, his love for poetry rubbed off on me and that’s how I started writing. It came naturally little by little,” explains the writer with passion.

A passion for writing, but especially for techno: “I started listening to this style of music very young. It was in primary school where a classmate had dance compilation CDs from the era. J “I loved the rhythm, the melody, I found it very catchy,” he explains with a touch of nostalgia.

Music, drawings and poetry

Beyond the poetry, there are numerous drawings in this work. Drawings related to techno illustrating, through different colors, the emotions we feel in this environment.
“I like to put myself in my bubble and draw. I think that adds an artistic touch to the book. I put techno in my ears and I draw, I transcribe what I hear,” says the poet.
Through his poems, Matthieu expresses his passion for techno and raves.
“This kind of subject is off the beaten track, that’s what I like about this art,” he finishes with a feeling of accomplishment.
