National. The ax has fallen for the Chamois Niortais: the DNCG has delivered its verdict

This Wednesday, June 26, 2024, the Niort Chamois had an appointment in front of the DNCG (National Directorate of Management Control), to present their budget for next season. Unsurprisingly, the French football policeman administratively demoted the Deux-Sévrien club to National 2.

Since the date of the Chamois’ passage before the DNCG (National Directorate of Management Control) has been known, the followers of the flagship club of Deux-Sèvres are waiting for this Wednesday, June 26, 2024 with fear in their stomachs. Five weeks after publicly announcing that he wanted to sell Chamois Niortais FC, Monday May 20, President Mikaël Hanouna was to present his team’s forecast budget for the 2024-2025 National season.

A call is expected

The decision should be a demotion he confided to The new Republic, on the eve of this decisive day for the future of the Chamois. A far-sighted forecast, since the latter were demoted to National 2.

The Niort management should now appeal the verdict of the independent commission of the LFP (Professional Football League), responsible for monitoring the clubs’ accounts, to give themselves more time. But in view of the debts accumulated under the Hanouna presidency, pessimism is beginning to win over Niort’s followers. The resumption of training is only planned in a short week, on July 3.
