The City of will host, on Sunday October 27, the 2nd edition of the literary fair for regional authors entitled “L’Amour Dé…Livre(s)”, under the initiative of Marcus Néron, Deputy Mayor of Saint-Hilaire -Saint-Florent.

This event will bring together sixty authors, from Saumur and the surrounding area, who will represent a wide diversity of literary genres: stories, poetry, haikus, fiction, thrillers, fantasy, children’s stories, heritage, history and photography. Among the 60 authors present this year, 20 have already participated in the first edition, with the condition of presenting a new work. 40 new writers enrich this second edition, thus offering a wide range of regional talents.

short story competition
This year, a unique literary competition was offered to participants. Twelve authors took up the challenge of writing a short story on the theme “Awakening the child or animal inside you”. A jury of six people will select two winners, a man and a woman, whose names will be revealed during the closing ceremony, scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.

New for 2024: a space dedicated to children
The youngest will not be left out, thanks to the creation of a children’s area led by Mélanie Cousin (Les cours de Méla), where drawing and writing activities will be offered. An opportunity for children to occupy themselves creatively while their parents discover the authors present.

An opening musical show
Ahead of the show, a musical moment will mark the opening of the event with a harpsichord concert by renowned artist Mario Raskin, on Saturday October 26 at 7 p.m. at the Espace André Lacaze. Of Argentinian origin, Mario Raskin settled in in the 1980s after touring the world with his harpsichord. In 1996, he also founded the “Saison Musicale de Montsoreau”, which he directed for seven years.
