Following the floods which occurred in several departments on Thursday October 17, roads, bridges and railways remain impassable.

In Limony (Ardèche), a goods transport line is unrecognizable, swallowed up in a few seconds by a river, it did not resist. Further south, a stream that became a torrent caused the bridge in the village of Chavanay () to give way. The residents are in shock. In the Loire, many roads remain impassable on Friday October 18, on the eve of the All Saints’ Day holidays.

Between (Rhône) and Saint-Étienne (Loire), no trains are running anymore. Bad weather caused significant damage to the line. In the stations, users organize themselves as best they can. A work-study student is stuck in Saint-Étienne and cannot return to his parents in Lyon. They will come and pick him up by car, but without using the A47 motorway, which is still closed to traffic. On site, firefighters are completing pumping operations for a reopening scheduled for Saturday morning, from 6 a.m.
