The East Yulin base, located on the island of Hainan known for its tourist attraction, has become a strategic location for the People’s Republic of China. In recent years, the Chinese government has invested tens of billions of dollars to develop the base, as explained by Washington Post. We must strengthen our capabilities and our military posture with our allies to prevent a Chinese attack“, explains retired Rear Admiral Michael Studeman, former commander of the Office of Naval Intelligence.
