Innovation: New Caledonia hosts the second edition of Overseas French Tech Day

After a first edition in November 2023 in , this new international meeting aims to promote the innovative initiatives of entrepreneurs from these island regions. “So Tech So Good”, the name of the event, will be an opportunity for technology players to come together, exchange and co-construct solutions to current challenges.
A program which is a continuation of the “Tech 4 Good Summit”, a territorial event with a regional dimension dedicated to technology and innovation, organized in 2022 by French Tech Nouvelle-Calédonie alongside numerous partners including the government. of New Caledonia, the South province and the General Directorate of Overseas.

An Event of International Reach

This event is supported by several institutional partners such as the General Directorate of Overseas, the French Tech Mission, the Pacific Fund and the South Province. Their objective is to encourage the development of overseas startups, by promoting their launch, acceleration and export to regional and international markets.

Among the invited personalities are François Bitouzet, general director of VivaTech, the largest global event dedicated to startups, as well as Stéphane Barbot-Maire, Chief Content Officer of VivaTech. Olivier Jacob, Director General of Overseas, Stuart Minchin, Director General of the Pacific Community (CPS), and Grégory Tappero, expatriate New Caledonian entrepreneur, will also be present.

Sharing and Exchange Spaces

During the two days, three thematic spaces will be dedicated to the exchange and sharing of experiences: a “French Tech Corner”, a “Tech Village”, as well as a space dedicated to conferences and round tables. These discussions will address various subjects, ranging from entrepreneurship in an island environment to the financing and export of innovative projects, including the transfer of technologies resulting from scientific research.

An Audience Invited to Discover Innovation

The event will be open to the New Caledonian public, offering a unique opportunity to discover the world of technology and innovation, as well as current projects in overseas territories. “So Tech So Good” also aims to strengthen collaborations in the region to build a more sustainable and inclusive society, while promoting the growth of local startups and their international influence.
